What We Provide

·         Education
HCAW offers via the HCAW Online University in partnership with RCTCLearn, onsite classes, annual conferences, webinars, and newsletter articles. Annual Meetings/Education Committee meets regularly to plan education that will assist member organizations meet regulatory requirements, improve staff clinical skills, and implement successful business practices.

To begin courses through RCTCLearn email info@hcaw.org to request a log in list for the trainer and staff.

·         Advocacy 

HCAW represents you, your agency and the In Home Services industry at key city, state, regional, and national meetings. HCAW ensures you have a presence and voice at those meetings and brings back vital information to the membership. Key meetings include regularly established networking meetings, stakeholder groups, task forces, and coalitions that partner with other healthcare providers and policy makers.

HCAW identifies and tracks bills that impact the In Home Services industry at a state and national level. HCAW provides lobbying efforts, testifies on pertinent bills, brings issues to Policy committee to develop consensus, develops positions, position papers/statements for or opposed to specific legislation, and initiates legislation when appropriate.

·         Community
HCAW provides a forum for members to pose questions, discuss concerns and ask for feedback. A monthly newsletter provides current articles by industry experts, HCAW staff/board members. HCAW staff provide linkage for members and non-members to resource information; HCAW links customers to member providers, affiliates and consultants.

  • The State & Federal Legislative/Regulatory Updates, Education Opportunities, Community & ACH Updates Forums are communication tools used by HCAW members and HCAW staff.  Legislative alerts, announcements about education, webinars, conferences and meetings,  notices from federal and state regulatory bodies, and other important information is passed along through the forums.  Additionally, the forums are a way for members to ask questions and share tips with each other.  Members can send a question via the Community Forum asking other members about their practice and procedures to help identify community standards.  Members may also subscribe to the forums they would like to follow and get email alerts for. Members may also comment on posts if they have questions or comments on the topic.
  • Remember one important rule, there can be no sharing of information related to pricing of services via any forum as anything that lends itself to price fixing is illegal!

HCAW Annual Conference

The Annual Conference is held each year in spring. At this conference we provide three days of in-depth education, a pre-conference day and two conference days. There will be a variety of presentations applicable to current health care needs based on the year’s theme. Presenters are highly knowledgeable experts in their field. Members may attend this conference at a discounted rate and receive group rates for accommodations at the conference. This is a great opportunity for networking with other members and experts in health care, as well as a source of continuing education for you and your staff.

Membership Categories
Membership with the Home Care Association of Washington is available to home care, home health, and hospice agencies or professionals.  The HCAW membership runs January 1 - December 31. 

 ·         Provider Members - dues are based on revenue for the most recent completed fiscal year
In-home service providers who deliver health, supportive or social services to Washington State residents in their homes. Provider members shall be entitled to vote at all membership meetings and in elections by mail ballot or other approved means.

·         Individual - dues are $100/year
An individual not meeting Individual Affiliate status, with an interest/affiliate with in-home services.  If employed by an agency meeting Provider Member status, the employing agency must be an Association Member.

·         Individual Affiliate - dues are $175/year
Individual consultant or business person with an interest/affiliation with in-home services.

·         Affiliate Organization - dues are $350/year with $100 for each additional office in Washington State
Any company not directly providing home care services to patients in their home, but providing support to those who do. 

·         Association or Institutional Affiliate - dues are $150/year
Other associations, educational organizations, other health care institutions or organizations not providing care in the home, etc.
